Dear VUSD Staff and Families,

On behalf of Vallecito Union School District (VUSD) let me welcome you to our amazing school district and community of learners. It is an honor to serve as Superintendent for VUSD supporting the District’s vision to empower all individuals to become academically and socially responsible life-long learners.

Vallecito Union School District has earned a reputation for offering exceptional learning opportunities to students, and the supplemental supports and extracurricular activities offered beyond the classroom setting are exceptional, as they provide enriching learning experiences for students at all levels. As an educator for over 20 years, I wholeheartedly value the programs and services in place, and I am committed to building upon best practices to ensure that current and future students have opportunities to explore their interests, find their true passions and receive a high-quality education that prepares them for High School.

In addition to our robust educational programs, the level of staff and community involvement makes Vallecito Union School District special. Staff at every level, from the principals to the custodians get to know students and parents by name, building positive relationships that create a school culture that feels more like a family than an institution. Please know that I will continue to foster and cultivate community and business partnerships that ensure the continued success of our students, schools, and community.

We offer various ways for families and community partners to be involved at the District Level in addition to our school groups and organizations. District Committees (Safety, Technology, Curriculum and Instruction & Attendance and Wellbeing), Superintendent Advisory Group, and LCAP Stakeholder Meetings are opportunities to be active.
