Welcome to Albert Michelson Elementary School, a vibrant TK-5 campus nestled in the charming California Gold Rush town of Murphys, California. We're delighted to have you here!

At our school, we offer a comprehensive academic program that empowers our students to excel in various subjects, including language arts, mathematics, science, technology, art, music, and social-emotional learning. We take great pride in providing a challenging yet nurturing environment that fosters a love of learning.

Our commitment to collaboration extends beyond the classroom. We work closely with our Michelson Parent Club, local businesses, and community organizations like Rotary, Murphy's Senior Center, and retired Veterans to create exceptional opportunities for our students. From the Master Gardeners Club to ceramics, fine art painting, Reading Buddies, Student Leadership, and a strong emphasis on inclusion, our programs aim to inspire every learner.

Our school community is a beautiful tapestry of long-time local families and newcomers who have recently joined us from more suburban areas. We celebrate this diversity and believe it enriches the educational experience for all.

Parents and community members play a vital role in our school's success. Their active participation and involvement as athletic coaches, event coordinators, School Site Council members, and volunteers in classrooms, the Parents Club, community garden, and mentoring and tutoring programs contribute immensely to the warm and welcoming atmosphere here at Albert Michelson Elementary.
